What works here, and what still doesn’t.

• Real text everywhere. Prices, menus, opening hours and statistics are text, never a picture of text.
• Every colour pair on the site was measured against the WCAG contrast formula before it shipped, section colours included.
• Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall with real space between them, so a thumb can hit one and only one.
• A visible focus ring that works on every section colour, because it is drawn twice: the page colour behind, the text colour in front.
• Form fields are set at 16 pixels, so an iPhone does not zoom the page when you tap into one.
• Nothing you need to read is set smaller than 12 pixels, and that includes labels, prices and footnotes.
• Questions and answers use the browser’s own expandable elements, so they work with no JavaScript and a screen reader announces whether they are open.
• Everything works from a keyboard, and a skip link takes you past the header to the content.
• Every moving thing stops if your device asks for reduced motion, and the scrolling marquee has a pause button as well.
• Landmarks, one first-level heading per page and headings in order, so a screen reader can be used to move around rather than read from the top.
• Pages print sensibly: the navigation and the cursor drop out, the tables and the words stay.

Nine things, on 10 September 2026. Each one is ours to fix rather than yours to work around.

• The cookie panel does not trap focus. It is deliberately not a modal dialog, so you can tab straight past it into the page before choosing. Escape closes it and counts as necessary only. The trade is that a screen reader user may reach the page content before meeting the choice.
• Some facts are still in square brackets. Delivery times, site ownership and care plan notice are written as [confirm with Leonard] until they are agreed. Everyone reads or hears those brackets. They are honest gaps rather than decoration, but they are clutter in the middle of an answer.
• Wide tables scroll sideways on a phone. There is a visible hint under each one, but there is no stacked alternative layout yet, so a table on a 320 pixel screen takes two hands.
• Screenshots of client sites are complex images. The alternative text says what the site is and who it is for; it does not describe every element in the picture. Anyone relying on it gets the gist, not the detail.
• Smooth scrolling is on for most pages. It is switched off on the legal pages, and off everywhere if your device asks for reduced motion, but with a mouse wheel it can make a heading harder to land on precisely.
• The pointer has a custom cursor. A small disc that follows the mouse and sometimes carries a word. It is hidden on touch screens and in Windows high contrast mode, but on a pointer device it cannot be turned off.
• Colour carries meaning in places. A section’s colour signals what it is about. Everything it signals is also written in words, but we have not tested every page in Windows high contrast mode.
• Very large display type at very high zoom. Headlines reflow and never force sideways scrolling, but at 400% zoom in a narrow window a long headline is still awkward to read.
• Nobody outside the two of us has tested it. No independent audit has been carried out and no disabled person has been asked to use it. Our own checks are useful, and they are not the same thing.

Ourselves, by hand, on a phone and on a laptop, in more than one browser. Keyboard only, from the skip link to the last link in the footer. Zoomed to 400 per cent in a narrow window. With reduced motion turned on at the operating system. With Windows high contrast on the pages we could reach. At 320 pixels wide, which is the narrowest phone still in circulation. Every colour pair checked against the contrast formula rather than by eye.

Automated tools were used as a first pass and not as a verdict. They cannot tell you whether alternative text is any good, and they will happily pass a page nobody can use.
