Everything you need to know.
Bude Web Services is a two-person web design company in Bude, Cornwall (EX23). Leonard and Rebecca build websites, online shops, Google Business Profiles and local SEO for cafés, holiday lets, trades and surf businesses across North Cornwall and North Devon. This is the long version. Every fact we publish is on this page, with the date it was last checked, so a customer or an AI assistant can quote it without guessing. Where a fact has not been settled yet it is left in square brackets rather than made up, and those answers are deliberately kept out of the structured data.
The facts, in one table.
Copy any row of this. It is the same set of facts we give Companies House, Google and anybody who rings up and asks.

How we price the work
Every price is published. A pay-monthly plan is built free, from £25 a month. A Fast-Track Website, up to 7 pages, is £1,195 to £1,795, and a Bespoke Website, where online shops start, is £2,495 to £7,995+. Care plans run from £60 a month, and every website you buy from us comes with one. Where a price is a range, a short call turns it into one fixed figure in writing before anything begins. It only changes if you add something, and then you get the new number first.
See every figure on the pricing page, or start on the contact form or the free website check, and you will hear back within 24 hours.
The questions, and the honest answers.
Grouped the way people ask them. Where an answer is still in brackets, it is because nobody has agreed the fact yet and we would rather show the gap than fill it in.
Who we are
Two people in Bude, and the company behind them.
Who is Bude Web Services?
Bude Web Services is a two-person web design company in Bude, Cornwall (EX23), run by Leonard and Rebecca. It is a trading name of Peake Management Ltd, company number 15574401, registered in England and Wales. The sister brand, ParkCraft, does marketing and web design for UK holiday parks.
What did you do before this?
Between us, twenty years in direct sales and marketing for holiday parks across the UK. That is twenty years of sitting across a table from people deciding whether to spend money, and learning what makes them say yes. The websites are built for that moment.
Are you really in Bude?
Yes. We are a two-person company in Bude, EX23. We will come to the café, the site or the yard for the first meeting wherever you are, and we are on the end of the phone the rest of the time.
Is ParkCraft the same company?
Same two people and the same parent company, Peake Management Ltd. ParkCraft does marketing and web design for UK holiday parks. Bude Web Services is the one for the high street, the trades, the lets and the beach businesses around here.
Where we work
How far the van goes, and what happens past the edge of it.
Which towns do you cover?
Bude first, with Stratton, Poughill, Kilkhampton and Widemouth Bay around it. Then Holsworthy, Bideford, Barnstaple and Okehampton over in Devon; Boscastle, Tintagel and Camelford down the coast; and, further south, Launceston in Cornwall, Wadebridge and Padstow.
Do you work with businesses outside North Cornwall and North Devon?
We can, and some of the work already is. What you would lose is the part we think matters most, which is one of us being able to drive over and stand in the room. If you are further afield and still want to talk, ring us and say so.
Which Launceston do you mean?
Launceston in Cornwall. Google keeps offering the one in Tasmania, which is why every page here says the county out loud. If you run a business in Launceston and your own search results look Australian, that is the reason.
Do you have an office we can visit?
There is no shop front. We work from Bude, EX23, and we come to you or talk on the phone. The address on the company paperwork is a registered office rather than somewhere to visit, so it is not published here.
Is there a page for my town?
Only where we can say something true about it: a client we have worked with there, a drive time one of us has actually driven, and the searches people in that town type. Everywhere else is a line on the areas page and nothing more. A page written to catch a search and say nothing is worth less than no page at all.
What we build
Nine things, and what each of them actually is.
What do you actually build?
Websites, website redesigns and online shops, care plans, Google Business Profiles and local SEO, logos and brand, landing pages, AI search pages, and photography and video. Nine things in all, and every price is on our pricing page.
What is in a small business website?
Four to eight pages built round the one thing a customer wants from you: a table, a night's stay, a quote, a lesson. Your number, your hours and the next step in the first screen. Your words tidied, or written with you if you would rather. Speed, accessibility and search checks before it goes live. Up to 7 pages is a Fast-Track Website, £1,195 to £1,795; bigger than that is a Bespoke Website, from £2,495. Or we build it free on a pay-monthly plan, from £25 a month.
Can the site take bookings or payments?
Yes. Online ordering, a shop, gift vouchers and collection slots run on Stripe or the card system you already use. That is the Bespoke Website, from £2,495. The card company's own fees are on top, because they are charged to you rather than to us.
Do you write the words as well?
Your words tidied is part of the build. If you would rather we wrote them from scratch, copywriting is £145 a page. It is usually the part that decides whether a page works, so it is not something to leave until the week before launch.
Will it work properly on a phone?
It is designed on a phone first and checked on a real one. About 46% of UK web traffic is on a phone (StatCounter, August 2026), and the person stood outside your door deciding whether to come in is holding one of them.
Is the site built to be accessible?
We build to WCAG 2.2 AA: real text rather than pictures of text, targets big enough for a thumb, visible focus, colour pairs measured for contrast, and motion that stops for anyone whose phone has been told to stop it. Our own accessibility statement lists what is still not right on this site.
Prices
Every price is on our pricing page. Where it is a range, you get one fixed figure in writing before we begin.
How much does a website cost?
A Fast-Track Website, up to 7 pages, is £1,195 to £1,795. A Bespoke Website, which is where online shops start, is £2,495 to £7,995+. Or we build it free and you pay from £25 a month on a pay-monthly plan. Every price is on our pricing page, and a range becomes one fixed figure in writing after a short call. A website you buy needs a care plan for hosting and updates, from £60 a month; pay-monthly plans already include it.
What does the care plan cost and what is in it?
Hosting, security, backups, software updates and uptime monitoring. Keep is £60 a month, Grow £120 (daily backups, next-day support and 30 minutes of changes a month) and Lead £240 (a firewall, hourly backups, same-day support and 90 minutes of changes). Every website you buy from us comes with one: the Keep care plan or above for a Fast-Track Website, the Grow or Lead care plan recommended for a Bespoke Website. It rolls monthly with no minimum term and you can move between levels any time. Pay-monthly plans already include hosting and upkeep.
What does Google Business Profile and local SEO setup cost?
Setting up and verifying your Google Business Profile is £90: the map listing built or fixed, the categories and service area set, and your hours and details right. Ongoing local SEO, like keeping your details matched everywhere Google looks and writing pages for the searches people type, is part of our Marketing Presence plan, from £345 a month.
What does a logo cost?
A logo on its own is £145 to £245. A mini brand kit, with a simple logo, colours and fonts, is £345. A Brand Kit, with a logo, colour palette, typography and a basic brand guide, is £645 to £845, and a Brand Identity is £1,195 to £1,795.
Do you do photography?
Yes. Stock photography for your site is £145. A real shoot, a half day or a day on site, edited in one grade and usable on the site, on Google, on Instagram and on the menu board, is priced per job, in writing before the day.
Is the quote fixed, or a guess?
Fixed. Our prices are published, and where one is a range, a short call settles it as one figure in writing. It only changes if you add something to the job, and then you get the new number first.
What is not included in the price?
Photography shoots are priced separately. The domain, and any booking, ordering or card system fees, are yours and paid to whoever provides them. Hosting and updates after launch are the care plan, from £60 a month, which every website you buy from us needs; pay-monthly plans include them.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. The first chat is free, the written price is free, and so is the website check.
What is the cheapest way to start?
The free website check, which costs nothing and is not a sales call. After that, the lowest cost way to a new site is a pay-monthly plan: we build it free and you pay from £25 a month, with the first month on us. Or start with the Google Business Profile setup, £90, and add the rest once the phone is ringing.
Where can I see all your prices?
On our pricing page. It lists every package: pay-monthly plans from £25 a month, websites from £1,195, care plans from £60 a month, branding from £645 and marketing from £345 a month, plus the smaller extras. Where a price is a range, a short call settles it as one figure in writing.
How it works
A chat, a plan with the price on it, the build, the launch.
How long does it take?
Most sites go live within a week. A Fast-Track Website is live within a week of your words and photos reaching us; a bigger site or a shop takes longer, and we give you the date before we start. If you have a deadline, say the start of the season, tell us on the first call and we will work backwards from it.
What happens on the first call?
An hour on the phone or at your counter. What you sell, what is not working, what a good month looks like, and a straight answer on whether we can help.
Will I see it before it goes live?
You see it on your own phone as it takes shape, and nothing goes live until you have said yes to every page.
Can I update it myself?
Yes, and we will show you how in about twenty minutes: menus, prices, opening hours, photos, a sold-out notice. If you would rather not touch it, send the change over on WhatsApp and it is done under the care plan.
I already have a site. Do I have to start again?
Not always. Send it over for a free check. Sometimes it needs a rebuild, sometimes it needs a faster host, a phone number at the top and a proper Google profile. We will tell you which, and what each would cost.
Who will I actually deal with?
Leonard or Rebecca. There is no account manager and no junior. The person you meet is the person who builds the site and the person who answers the phone afterwards.
How quickly do you reply?
Within 24 hours, and usually the same day. The phone is on and the messages get read, so a message sent at midnight gets its answer in the morning.
What do you need from me?
Photographs, words, and the facts: hours, prices, the menu, the towns you cover, what you want a customer to do next. Most of the waiting on any build is waiting on those, so gathering them early is the fastest thing you can do.
What if I do not like it?
You see it as it takes shape rather than at the end, so there is no reveal to dread and no week spent unpicking a direction nobody wanted. Nothing goes live until you have said yes to every page.
Google and AI search
Being found, on the map and in the answers.
Will people find me on Google?
Only if the site and your Google Business Profile are built for the searches people type, like 'plumber Holsworthy' or 'dog friendly pub Widemouth'. Setting up and verifying the Google Business Profile is £90, and ongoing SEO is part of our Marketing Presence plan, from £345 a month. Rankings take months rather than days, and we will tell you that up front rather than after.
What is AI search and does my café need to care?
People now ask ChatGPT and Google's AI where to eat in Bude and who does roofs in Stratton. In 2026, 45% of consumers in one US survey had used an AI tool for a local business recommendation, up from 6% the year before (BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey, 2026). The fix is the same as good local SEO: consistent facts, real pages that answer real questions, and a Google Business Profile that is up to date.
How long does it take to show up on Google?
Weeks for the map listing once it is verified and complete; months for the pages to rank for anything competitive. Anyone who promises page one in a fortnight is selling something else.
What is a Google Business Profile, and do I need one?
It is the listing with the map pin, the hours, the photographs and the reviews, and for most local businesses it is what a customer sees before they ever reach a website. So yes. Setting one up and getting it verified, or fixing one that was set up badly, is £90.
Do you run adverts?
No. Paid advertising is not something we do or quote for, and we do not manage it. If adverts are genuinely what you need, we will say so rather than sell you a website instead.
Do reviews matter?
They do. 41% of consumers in a US survey say they always read reviews for local businesses, up from 29% (BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey, 2026). We set up a review link you can send after every job. We do not write reviews and we will not buy them for you.
How many reviews have you got?
None yet under this name. That is why there is not a star, a count or a quoted customer anywhere on this site. When there are real ones, they will carry a name and written permission.
Ownership and after launch
What is yours, and what happens next.
Do I own the website?
Your content, your domain and your brand are always yours. A Bespoke Website's code is assigned to you once it is paid for in full, as the written quote sets out, and you can host it anywhere. A Fast-Track Website runs on our hosting for as long as the care plan runs; if the plan stops, the site goes offline at the end of the billed period unless we agreed a hosting transfer in advance, and we help you take your content and domain with you. A pay-monthly plan is managed, not owned: the code and design stay with us.
What happens after launch?
We put it live, get it onto Google and show you how to change the menu. Then we are a phone call away. A website you buy from us comes with a care plan, and a pay-monthly plan includes the upkeep, so somebody is always looking after it.
What if I stop the care plan?
There is no minimum term, so you can stop any time by WhatsApp, phone or the contact form, and the plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for. The care plan is what keeps a Fast-Track Website hosted, so the site goes offline at the end of that period unless we agreed a hosting transfer in advance. Either way we help you take your content and domain with you. A Bespoke Website's code is yours, so it can move to other hosting.
Am I tied into a contract?
No. A website build is a one-off fixed price in writing. Care plans, pay-monthly plans and marketing bill every 30 days in advance with no minimum term: cancel any time and the service runs to the end of the period you have paid for. There are no refunds on part months.
Where is the site hosted?
On our hosting. The care plan, or a pay-monthly plan, covers the SSL certificate, the security updates, the backups and uptime monitoring. If you have a Bespoke Website and would rather host it somewhere else, the code is yours to move, and we will tell you what the site needs from it.
If you run a café, a let, a trade or a surf school
The first thing we would change, by trade.
I run a café, a pub or a restaurant. What would you do first?
Put the menu in the page instead of in a PDF, so it loads on one bar of signal and the prices are the ones on the board. Then hours, the phone number and a book-a-table button in the first screen, and the same hours on Google so nobody drives over to a locked door.
I run a holiday let, a B&B or a campsite. What would you do first?
A 'Check dates' button that goes to your own calendar first, with the direct price beside the agency price so the saving is obvious. Then a late-availability block for short-notice bookings and a short-breaks page for the weeks outside August. One national letting agency charges owners 18% to 22% plus VAT per booking (Sykes Cottages, 2026), which is the number that makes direct bookings worth the work.
I am a builder, an electrician or a roofer. What would you do first?
Your number huge, a WhatsApp button, and a quote form that takes photographs, so somebody can send you the leak while you are up a ladder. Then your patch and your jobs on the page, so the enquiries that arrive are the right kind. In one study of 142 small UK firms, 47% of first calls went unanswered (Paperclip, 2025).
I run a surf school or a hire shop. What would you do first?
Book a lesson or hire a board in three taps, with today's session times and the tide next to the button. Then gift vouchers and group bookings, because Christmas and stag weekends are the winter trade. In a US survey of 1,227 consumers, 75% decide which local business to use in under 30 minutes (BrightLocal, Consumer Search Behavior, 2026).
I run a shop or a professional service. Will you work with me?
Yes. We lead with cafés, lets, trades and surf because that is where most of the work around here is, but nothing changes for a farm shop, a salon or an accountant in Holsworthy: what you sell, where you are, when you are open, and one clear thing to do next.
How to start
One field, one phone number, and no calendar to wrestle with.
How do I start?
Send your web address for a free website check, or ring 07434 290841. The check is one field and it costs nothing. A person looks at your site on a real phone and emails you back within 24 hours.
What is in the free website check?
Five things. Does it load in under three seconds on a phone with one bar of signal. Can somebody ring, book or order in one tap from the first screen. Do you show up on the Google map for your trade and your town. Are your hours, your prices, the menu and the photographs current, and do they match what Google says. And the one thing to fix first, with a rough cost.
I have not got a website. Is the check any use?
Send your business name instead and we will check what Google shows when somebody searches for you. For a lot of businesses around here, that is the more useful answer anyway.
Can I just ring?
Yes. 07434 290841, and the same number takes WhatsApp. If we are on a job we will ring back.
Is there a booking link or a calendar?
Not at the moment. Ring, send a WhatsApp or use the website check and we will fix a time between us. We would rather you spoke to one of us than to a booking form.
What happens to what I send you?
It comes to us by email and nowhere else. There is no newsletter, no list, and nothing is sold on. The privacy policy sets out what we hold, why we hold it, and how to ask for it back.

What we don’t do.
Worth reading before you ring. A wasted first meeting costs you an hour and us the same.
- Paid advertising
- We do not run Google Ads, Meta ads or anything else with a budget attached, and we do not take a cut of one. If adverts are what you need, we will say so rather than sell you a website instead.
- Reviews
- We do not write reviews, buy them or arrange them. We will set up the link that lets you ask a real customer for a real one, and that is where our involvement stops.
- Promises about Google
- No guaranteed ranking, no guaranteed place in an AI answer, no guaranteed number of enquiries. Rankings are Google's decision, they move, and anything competitive takes months.
- Apps, software and IT support
- No phone apps, no custom software, no fixing the till or the office printer. Websites, shops, search, brand and pictures. That is the list.
- Photographs of places we have not been
- There is not one photograph of Bude on this website, because we have not taken them yet. Nothing here is a stock beach or a generated one, and nothing on your site will be either.
- Tracking your customers
- Nothing that follows a visitor around the internet goes on your site unless you ask for it and tell them. There is no analytics on this site at all today.
- A big team
- One mobile number, and it is at the top of this page. No account manager, no junior, no out-of-hours desk.
- Work we think will fail
- If a new website is not your problem, we will tell you on the first call and not take the money. It has happened, and it will happen again.
Every page on this site.

Where we work
A town gets its own page only once we have a client there, a drive time one of us has driven and the searches people there actually type. Everywhere else is a line on the areas page.
