Websites for a shop or a practice

Looked up first, visited second.

Shops, farm shops and professional practices are not who we lead with, but the rules do not change: hours that match Google, what you sell written as pages people search for, and one clear thing to do next. A website starts at £1,195, or we build it free from £25 a month.

“You sell to people across North Cornwall and North Devon and your website is a page with a map on it.”

The same rules apply: what you sell, where you are, when you're open, and one clear thing to do next.

You sell to a county, not a street.

The words below are the ones you use. We write the site in them rather than translating them into something a stranger would say.

Your customers are spread from Holsworthy to Camelford and they are not walking past. They are looking for opening hours before they drive over, for whether you do click and collect, for whether the veg boxes come as far as Kilkhampton, or for an appointment next week. Most of them decide before they set off.

Which makes the boring things the important ones. Hours, address and phone number that match what Google says, this year's photographs, what you actually stock, where you deliver, and how to book a consultation without ringing during the working day. Get those right and the website has done nearly all of its job.

62%of consumers would avoid a business if they found wrong information about it online

What your site actually has to carry.

Not a feature list. These are the things a customer of yours is trying to do, and where each one has to sit before they give up and ring somebody else.

What a shop or practice website has to carry, and where each thing belongs.

What we’d do first.

Before a rebuild, before a rebrand, before anything with a monthly fee attached to it. In this order, for a shop or a practice.

  1. Hours, address and a phone number that match Google exactly.

  2. What you sell as pages people search for, with photographs taken this year.

  3. Click and collect or a booking link if it saves you a phone call.

And what we wouldn’t bother with

A loyalty app

On a high street this size it is a lot of money for something a printed card does as well. Spend it on the hours being right everywhere and on photographs of what is actually in stock.

The words your customers actually type.

Not keywords. Half-sentences, typed with one thumb, usually within a few miles of you and usually about to spend money.

  • farm shop near Bude

  • accountant Bude

  • estate agent Holsworthy

Every one of those is either a page on your site or a line on your Google Business Profile, and usually both. Local SEO and the Google profile is priced on its own, set up once and kept right through the season.

What that takes, and what it costs.

Every one of these has a published price. Where it’s a range, a short call turns it into one fixed figure in writing before any work begins.

Most of what we can show you so far is holiday parks, glamping and holiday home sales, built by the same two people under our holiday-park name. The thinking is the same and the figures on each study are lab measurements, stated in full. See the work.

Care plans, marketing and the smaller extras are all on the pricing page. When you know what you need, start your project.

The questions we get, answered straight.

  • We're not a café or a holiday let. Do you still build for us?

Yes. We lead with cafés, holiday lets, trades and surf businesses because they are what is around us, not because the work is different. A physiotherapist needs an appointment link where a café needs a menu. Underneath that, both are answering somebody who has already looked you up on a phone.

  • Do we need an online shop, or just a website?

Only if you would actually pack and post the orders. A shop is a bigger build, and it adds work every week. If most of your trade is people coming in, click and collect or a booking link on a small site earns more for less.

  • Can you fix our Google listing?

Yes, and for a lot of local businesses it is the cheapest thing that moves. Setting up the Google Business Profile properly is £90. Matching your name, address and hours everywhere Google looks, and building the pages for the searches people type, is ongoing work, part of our Marketing Presence plan, from £345 a month.

  • What does it cost?

A Fast-Track Website is £1,195 to £1,795, and a bigger site or an online shop is a Bespoke Website, from £2,495. Hosting and updates are the care plan, from £60 a month. A logo on its own is £145 to £245, and a photography shoot is priced per job. Or we build it free from £25 a month on a pay-monthly plan. Every price is on our pricing page, and a range is fixed in writing before any work starts.
