Websites for a surf, outdoor or activity business
Sell the lesson while they're stood on the sand.
We build booking sites for surf schools, hire shops and activity businesses around Bude and Widemouth Bay: today's session times, the tide beside the button, and gift vouchers for the winter. A website starts at £1,195, or we build it free from £25 a month.
From £25 a month, or from £1,195Every price
“They're already on the beach, checking the tide on a phone. They book whoever lets them book right now.”
Lessons, hire and bookings sold to people who are already stood on the sand, with the tide times next to the button.
Your day starts with the conditions.
The words below are the ones you use. We write the site in them rather than translating them into something a stranger would say.
You check it before you are properly awake: swell, wind, tide times, whether the beach is lifeguarded today, how many wetsuits dried overnight. By nine you know which sessions can run and which kit is going out. By ten the car park is filling and the day is decided for you.
Your customer's day starts on the sand with a phone in their hand. They are not planning a holiday, they are planning the next two hours. They will read one page, and they will book with whoever lets them book right now, with the group booking, the board hire and the safety brief all understood before they walk over.
Then the season ends, and the same site has a different job. Gift vouchers at Christmas, the stag weekend enquiry in February, the school group in May, the season pass for the ones who are here every week. That is the winter trade, and it is sold from a page, not from the shop.

1,227 US consumers, 2026
75%of people decide which local business to use in under 30 minutes
Source: BrightLocal, Consumer Search Behavior, 2026. Sample: 1,227 US consumers. A US survey, so read it as a direction of travel rather than a Cornish number.
www.brightlocal.com/research/consumer-search-behavior-decisionsWhat your site actually has to carry.
Not a feature list. These are the things a customer of yours is trying to do, and where each one has to sit before they give up and ring somebody else.
| What it needs | Why, for you | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Today's session times | Most of them decide inside half an hour. A timetable as a picture, or as next week's PDF, is no use in that time. | First screen, above everything else, changed daily |
| Tide and conditions, with the source named | If your page is the one they check in the morning, it is the one they book on in the afternoon. | A line under the sessions, saying where the numbers come from |
| Book in three taps | The decision is made in minutes, on the phone in their hand. A form that ends in 'we will ring you back' loses it. | Lessons and hire on one page, one button each |
| Wetsuit and board hire, priced | Hire is a different question from a lesson, and the person asking it wants sizes and a price, not a phone call. | Its own page, with what fits whom |
| Gift vouchers | Christmas and birthdays are how a surf school earns in January. | Sold from the site and emailed, not written out by hand |
| Group bookings | Stag weekends, schools and birthday parties are one enquiry, not twenty, and they need numbers and dates up front. | A short form asking how many, when, and how old |
What we’d do first.
Before a rebuild, before a rebrand, before anything with a monthly fee attached to it. In this order, for a surf, outdoor or activity business.
Book a lesson or hire a board in three taps, with today's session times and the tide next to the button.
A conditions line that is honest (and sourced) so the site is the page people check in the morning, not just the one they book on.
Gift vouchers and group bookings sold from the site, because Christmas and stag weekends are the winter trade.
And what we wouldn’t bother with
Your own live webcam
It costs money every month, it breaks in the salt, and the forecast sites already do it better on a bigger budget. Link theirs, be honest about the conditions in words, and spend the money on the booking instead.
The words your customers actually type.
Not keywords. Half-sentences, typed with one thumb, usually within a few miles of you and usually about to spend money.

Every one of those is either a page on your site or a line on your Google Business Profile, and usually both. Local SEO and the Google profile is priced on its own, set up once and kept right through the season.

Every one of these has a published price. Where it’s a range, a short call turns it into one fixed figure in writing before any work begins.

Most of what we can show you so far is holiday parks, glamping and holiday home sales, built by the same two people under our holiday-park name. The thinking is the same and the figures on each study are lab measurements, stated in full. See the work.
Care plans, marketing and the smaller extras are all on the pricing page. When you know what you need, start your project.
The questions we get, answered straight.
Can people book a lesson straight from the site?
Yes. Sessions, hire and group bookings all go through whichever booking system you already use, with the times and the spaces left shown on the page. If you are still taking bookings on paper we will talk you through what suits the size of the operation before you pay for anything.
Can you put tide times on it?
Yes, pulled from a published source and labelled with where it came from, so nobody treats it as a safety brief. Being the page people check in the morning is worth more than any advert, and it does not add a monthly fee of its own.
Can we sell gift vouchers online?
Yes. Selling anything from the site, vouchers included, is the bigger build, because it needs the card system, the email that sends the voucher and a way to redeem it without arguments in August.
What does a surf or activity website cost?
A Fast-Track Website with your sessions, hire, prices and a booking button is £1,195 to £1,795. Selling vouchers or taking payment itself is a bigger build: a Bespoke Website, from £2,495. Google Business Profile setup is £90 on top of that. Hosting and updates are the care plan, from £60 a month. Or we build it free from £25 a month on a pay-monthly plan. Every price is on our pricing page, and a range is fixed in writing before we start.

We look at it the way one of your customers would: on a phone, in a hurry, on a Bude signal. Then you get an email from Leonard or Rebecca with the one thing to fix first and roughly what it would cost.
The check costs nothing and there is no sales call after it.
