Websites for a wedding or event venue

Chosen from the sofa, before they close the tab.

We build websites for wedding venues, barns and country houses across Bude, North Cornwall and North Devon: real photographs of a wedding that actually happened here, the price and capacity stated plainly, and an enquiry that reaches you with the date and the headcount already in it. A website starts at £1,195, or we build it free from £25 a month.

From £25 a month, or from £1,195Every price

“It's gone eleven and a couple are on the sofa with your site open next to two others, trying to work out what a Saturday in June actually costs.”

Real photographs of a wedding that happened here, the price and capacity stated plainly, and an enquiry that lands with the date and the headcount already in it.

Every Saturday from May to September is somebody's only one.

The words below are the ones you use. We write the site in them rather than translating them into something a stranger would say.

Wedding season here runs from May to September, and inside it every Saturday is booked to one couple only: the room turned round from ceremony chairs to a wedding breakfast for eighty, the marquee up by Thursday, the getting-ready room stocked with a kettle and a mirror with good light. Viewings happen on the days in between, walking a couple round an empty barn and asking them to picture it full.

The couple looking at you tonight are not in the barn. They're on a sofa at eleven o'clock with your site open next to two others, working out which one actually says what a Saturday in June costs, whether it holds a hundred and twenty for the wedding breakfast, and whether they're allowed to bring their own caterer. If the answer isn't on the page, they ring in the morning, or they don't ring at all and book whoever did tell them.

Then October comes and the weddings thin out, and the same building has to earn from something else: the corporate away day, the significant birthday, the party nobody plans a year ahead. The site has one job across both seasons. Tell a couple, or a company booking a Christmas do, what the room costs, what it holds and what's included, clearly enough that the enquiry that lands is one you can actually take.

What your site actually has to carry.

Not a feature list. These are the things a customer of yours is trying to do, and where each one has to sit before they give up and ring somebody else.

What a wedding venue website has to carry, and where each thing belongs.
What it needsWhy, for youWhere it goes
Real photographs of a wedding that happened hereAn empty barn photographs well and tells a couple nothing. They are trying to picture their own day in the room, at the time of year they're marrying in.The home page, and a real weddings page credited to the photographer
The price for a Saturday in seasonCouples compare several venues on a phone before they ring any of them. The one that makes them ask for a price loses to the one that already gave it.Its own page, with a weekday or off-season price stated beside it
Capacity, seated and standingA hundred for the wedding breakfast and a hundred and eighty for the evening do are two different numbers, and a big guest list rules you out in seconds if neither is on the page. The same page as the price, not a brochure they have to request
Whether you can marry hereSome venues hold a civil ceremony licence, some only take the reception. Getting this wrong costs a couple a registrar booking, and costs you the enquiry.Stated plainly near the top, before capacity or price
What's included, and what corkage or exclusive use costsTables and chairs, but not the caterer; the grounds, but not the marquee. Vague inclusions are the single biggest reason for a phone call instead of an enquiry.A short list on the pricing page, written in plain terms
How to book a viewingA couple who likes what they see on the page still wants to stand in the room before they commit. Making that easy is most of the way to a booking.A form or a link to your diary, next to the enquiry button

What we’d do first.

Before a rebuild, before a rebrand, before anything with a monthly fee attached to it. In this order, for a wedding or event venue.

  1. The price for a Saturday in season and the capacity, seated and standing, on one page, not behind an enquiry form.

  2. Real photographs of a wedding that actually happened here, credited to the photographer, instead of an empty room styled for a shoot.

  3. An enquiry form that asks the date and the headcount up front, so what lands in your inbox at midnight is something you can actually answer in the morning.

And what we wouldn’t bother with

A drone flythrough of the grounds as the homepage video

It looks impressive for three seconds and answers none of the questions a couple is actually comparing you on. Real photographs of a real wedding, in real weather, do more for a booking than a drone gliding over an empty lawn.

The words your customers actually type.

Not keywords. Half-sentences, typed with one thumb, usually within a few miles of you and usually about to spend money.

  • wedding venue Bude

  • barn wedding venue Cornwall

  • wedding venue North Devon

  • exclusive use wedding venue near Bude

Every one of those is either a page on your site or a line on your Google Business Profile, and usually both. Local SEO and the Google profile is priced on its own, set up once and kept right through the season.

The questions we get, answered straight.

  • Should we put our prices online?

Yes, and it's usually the first thing we'd change. Couples do most of their planning online, comparing several venues on a phone before they ever contact one, and a venue that makes them ask for a price loses to the one that already gave it. You can still quote bespoke packages separately; a starting figure for a Saturday in season is enough to keep you in the conversation.

  • Can people check if our date is free without ringing?

We build you a page where they can ask, with the date and the headcount already in the form, rather than a live calendar that books itself out. A wedding is too big a decision, and too much of a commitment for you, to sell like a hotel room; what the site can do is get you the right enquiry, with the details you need to answer it, instead of a vague 'do you have anything in June'.

  • Can you use photographs from weddings that have actually happened here?

Yes, and we'd rather you did than book a styled shoot. It usually means asking a couple and their photographer for permission, which most are glad to give for a credit and a link. Where you don't have enough yet, photography is quoted separately and we'd shoot the room and the grounds honestly, in the season you're trying to sell.

  • What does a website for a wedding venue cost?

A Fast-Track Website, from £1,195, covers the pages, the pricing and capacity information, and the enquiry form. Google Business Profile setup is £90 on top of that, useful because a lot of searches are 'wedding venue near Bude' rather than your own name. Photography is quoted per venue and per day. Hosting and updates are the care plan, from £60 a month. Or we build it free from £25 a month on a pay-monthly plan. Every price is on our pricing page, and a range is fixed in writing before we start.
